ABOUT THE BLOG

The Roots

What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s the years and years I watched my grandmother and my mother cook, it is the places I travel to and the people I meet. I love writing about my passions, my recipes, my travels, and sharing all of my thoughts with my readers.

Cooking is my Inheritance is my way of sharing the beauty that I encounter, and the things that fascinate me. I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the unique content I have to offer. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover what fuels you as well. Read on and enjoy!

ABOUT

Hello everyone! I'm Rodica. I live in Rochester Hills, Michigan together with my husband Rick and son Joshua, our two cats MooMoo and Alyster, and our two hens Chloe and Sage. I am originally from Romania where I spent my first 24 years. I began an instagram page in 2016 with no plan whatsoever. That led to the purchase of my first professional camera, to taking pictures of food, to styling, to traveling, and here I am today, blogging. I was reluctant for so many years to the idea of starting a blog first of all because I am in school for nursing and that takes all my time and second of all I am not one to cook from recipes usually. I grew up alongside my grandmother (who by the way is the best baker in the world) and my mother who is renowned for her delicious dishes. Neither of them uses recipes. Instead this Romanian way of cooking and baking is by using whatever you have in the fridge and in the pantry, and making something that not only tastes good but looks good as well.  For years, I have served as a useful source to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it (or simply said I caved in to all the blog demands I receive everyday). I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our world. I founded Cooking is my Inheritance with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind.

Take some time to explore the blog, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you would like to collaborate on a project together.
